Helles are good knives. The laminated steel sharpens up amazingly well and they hold an edge for a long time. I only dislike the fact, that the stick tang is either hardened to very low RC or not hardened at all - so it is quite easy to bend it. Still it is better than a brittle super hard super steel.

    7BD78F81-16AF-46F8-8675-223EEB8D1F18.jpeg Pumpkin day,
You can see this little mora has some miles on it but I am really amazed how it has held up.
The day I bought this one I bought three of them assuming that they wouldn’t last any time and I would use it throw it away and move onto another one but I’m still on my first one and while this is not my primary outdoors knife it has had a lot of use for very specific purposes I don’t know how many years we have done a pumpkin with it(the handle and guard suits the kids as well as my bigger hands) I also use this knife to process rabbits and it has done hundreds(I butcher rabbits we raise for our consumption and for raw dog food)and keeps on going. True scandi folks would poo poo my edge as it is convex from on the fly strop and steel but it cuts like a laser.

Probably my current favorite scandi knife. The shape and overall smaller size really set it apart from the other scandi ground knives I own/have owned. Field and Steel did a great job. Would love to order the exact same model in a thinner blade stock. 41572EC4-FA51-42F3-A894-D790674FCDE3.jpeg

Caleb that reminds me a lot of the LTWK Pronghorn.... I just love that pattern and that is a great looking blade!

Ah, now that you mention it I do see the logo.

That is a sweet looking little knife.
Small blade with a good sized handle.

So when does a scandi become a saber grind - is height of main bevel indicative or is presence or not of secondary bevel at edge? Or is a scandi a subset of saber grinds?
