Yep.......it would have been Darwinism...... :D They are quite common here on the coast around Sydney, especially around the beachside rock pools.....where people like to swim.....but we are well educated on them from childhood... ;)

Aaaaaaand that’s why a vacation in Australia kind of freaks me out. Sharks I can deal with. All the poisonous critters are the ones that scare me.

.....it's not nearly as bad as we like to make our friends in the US and UK believe. It's more about keeping this place for ourselves.

All those critters are here of course but a little common sense and you would be fine, honest you would :D Serial killers and dehydration get more tourists here than the fauna ;)

Same sort of people that try to get a selfie with a moose. No, really, I watched some people try that - mama moose with calf. We didn’t stay to see how that turned out.

Flash floods, large shore break and biking down the volcano get most of the people here in trouble. We just don’t talk about it, lol. Just kidding...sometimes folks don’t listen and don’t like to read signs.

I knew a guy who passed out on the floor and was bit on the finger by a copperhead. Don’t believe me ask @Jeff Randall he was there when he told us :)

If you are in the waters off WA an Octopus will always be the least of your worries..... where is @DiverLiam (his Premier has probably told him he can't talk to anyone from "The East", even online, in case he gets "The 'Rona" off us) to explain when I need him.

We closed the borders to stop tourists being eaten by the sharks. The last guy to get knocked off a paddle board even had a shark shield on. ******* sharks. Great Whites own the south, Tigers the north, and Bulls own the bloody river.

You guys are making me want to start spear fishing again. Had to quit when my kids were young. Apparently my wife didn’t want me dead at that time. She gave me a 30 foot depth limit so I stopped, lol. All the tasty stuff hangs out deeper.

funny part is I’ve had more fish stolen by turtles and eels than sharks.

I’m way more cautious of eels cause you can’t see them when you’re looking for fish in caves and over hands. They got super camo
