First off a big thanks for getting the opportunity to use this knife. I thoroughly enjoyed this knife. It is a 5 inch workhorse. I can't say enough about how comfortable the Fiddleback Forge knives are. His production knives are excellent but there is nothing like a handmade one from his shop. Truly works of art that also get the chores done. Gotta love that tapered tang. My only dislike was the sheath. This knife should be in leather and not kydex. While the video doesn't show all the tasks thrown at it the Duke handled everything without a problem. Didn't take exact measurements but it is comfortable for any size mitt.
It was an excellent video. That Duke is just a beautiful knife and incredible all around. I definitely want one at some point. I love the machetes too. I have the 16" and love it. I posted some pics ands a write up, but never got much respose to it. Sometimes I wonder if the 12" might have been better for some jobs. Oh well, I guess I better get one of each to make sure.
Thanks. What I like about the 12" is that it's sort of a cross between a machete and a large knife and it just works great.
Another great video James! Whitty gets to take the credit (or the blame) for the sheath. Let him practice his kydex skills being the first person on the pass around. In his defense, he did tell me it was a rush job so he could get he knife in the hands of a couple other guys testing the knife. Those two photos are excellent as well. Glad you liked the Duke and the machete is bad ass too.
