@Andy the Aussie I was born in 1987, the year of the "Toyota War", so my affinity for the brand was destiny.

I have to say I have seen plenty of 70 series trucks out here in MUCH worse condition than this one !!

If America were like the Middle East the only vehicle that is abundant enough and long lasting enough they could do similar with would be like a Toyota Corolla.

Probably can’t fit a very large piece of anti aircraft weaponry in the trunk however....

Digging the color scheme. We have a Crosstrek that I'd like to mod a bit, but it's my wife's daily so we're leaving it as is for the time being. Subies are plenty capable right out of the metaphorical box.

Drivetrain is 100% stock. I do have 2” LP Adventures lift kit for it but am working to get all the lights wired via a Switch Pros first.
Lot of aftermarket support for Crostreks.

Those are factory fog lights with a yellow film and Diode Dynamics SL1 LED yellow lamp.
However, Baja Designs has a kit for it and those are about 4” around.

    Gotcha.

I asked because I found a set of Diode Dynamics LED fog lamps in my garage over the weekend that do not fit our Forester.

I'd like to lift ours 2" as well. Mostly get some all terrains under it. A front a skid would be nice to. The most we plan to do is forest roads, but occasionally those include a rough patch or two.

With the 2" lift the Outback would have almost 11" of ground clearance, not bad for a family wagon and would put most of the modern city SUVs to shame

Biggest off-road performance vs. cost comes form 17” rims, AT tires and Primitive Racing 3/16” aluminum skid plates.

So so nice. I was just looking at Emu Wing hatches that replace the side windows of the cargo area. They're cool, but I'm not sure they're $700 cool.

Yes there are a couple of makers, Frontrunner and another mob here. There are glass and solid metal versions as well. I am not 100% sure of the utility, for me I see some small gains because I have the dual wheel carrier on the back, to open the doors I have to open out at least one of the wheels, so a gullwing would make that a bit easier, not 100% it's worth it though. If I did i would probably just start with one on the passenger side. I am just waiting on a new snorkel to arrive for this as the factory one is actually a raised air intake not a sealed snorkel (it would have cost Toyota maybe $10 extra to do it properly but they didn't),it's running a few weeks late on delivery already :(

Yeah, the swing-out situation is the only way I could see them being useful. One side of truck camper has the windoor, and it's nice to get things from the front without having to crawl up into the bed.
