This made me want a molle back for the 6, it would be great for hiking with a backpack with a waist belt, so the knife will ride lower. However here the price for it is insane. The back + pouch cost around 1/2 of a new 6 with a plastic sheath and a clip plate

I etched the serial # and two of the logos then started to sand it. Unfortunately it won't be perfectly mirror polished cause it'll have some markings from the blade in it. I started sanding with 320 and was unable to remove them. I could go lower to 120 or 180 but those scratches from those grits are near impossible to remove themselves. Guess it'll have "character". Hopefully it'll still turn out good with the theme in going with it. IMG_20210303_203235_341.jpg IMG_20210303_203235_335.jpg IMG_20210303_201502760.jpg IMG_20210303_212917490.jpg

Etch your paw print over it. Make it look like you meant it to look that way. :)

I could do that, but it wouldn't go with what I'm trying to do with it. But, I might be able to do something with it.

Started sanding and eh, but with a little extra sanding and elbow grease it should turn out halfway decent. It don't have to be perfect I guess lol. This is only the first sanding with 320 grit. I like it a lot! With some use marks and patina it will be perfect.

Just finished with 600 grit. Still a ways away, going up to 3,000 grit. And it's new coat came in today. I'll have to wet form it for sure but not a bad fit. It is a little long also but some leather jackets are like that :D IMG_20210305_170610687.jpg IMG_20210305_170736149.jpg

So.. I think I'm a genius, at least for today lol. I figured out how to cover up some of those spots. To be continued....

Not going to get any more polished than this. Sanded from 320 to 3000 and alternated dry/wet from 800 to 3000. I have a plan that hopefully will distract from the imperfections in the blade, but they also do add a little character. Wish me luck on my plan lol. IMG_20210306_185800_781.jpg

For the 6, came in today. Still waiting on a few other things then I can put it all together. The leather sheath didn't work out as planned so have to figure something else out. COLLAGE_20210312_141624.jpg

Got the scales in and ordered the sheath and molle/pouch on Saturday. Pic of the molle and pouch is not mine, I stole it from in here, but I think I bought the setup from him? It had an orange esee 5 with it. I won't reveal the beads yet. IMG_20210316_171238562.jpg COLLAGE_20210316_160626.jpg TKC-OKES67K-Sheath-Blk__91685.1572886974.jpg

I was gonna wait until it was all done but waiting on what I need to etch everything. Anyway, now the theme is revealed. Leather Harley pouch fits an Altoids tin perfectly with a little room to spare. Harley beads as well, albeit not the best quality. (ebay find). Can't wait until I can etch it to make it even more bad ass. 20210323_160732.jpg 20210323_160922.jpg 20210323_152235.jpg

Nah, I took a few pictures of the etching and after it was stripped. I thought about doing a video but there's so many out there that show the same thing.
