    Ran into this juvenile rattlesnake a few days back. Extended me the courtesy of not biting me. Was to young to rattle, so none of the usual “heads up”. 77185D6C-FD78-4211-81E0-77DDF2A2CD99.jpeg DFD0BA1C-4A4F-4929-B44E-D723E562802D.jpeg

    Slow news day. I have had the same species in my suburban back yard as well as Red Belly Blacks on the house steps. The snake catchers have a deal with the news outlets for such stories as it promotes their business and gives the bottom feeders (journalists) and easy story.

    Yeah, lucky she was in town. A similar story happened some years ago on a station out near Charleville QLD, he was a late teen I think that was bitten in bed but didn't survive it.

    @Caleb O
    I looked up both and Def a Gopher Snake!

    In 30+ years I’ve only ever seen Racer / ribbon snakes locally. Def cool to see something new!

    Thank you
