My Izula II finally showed up, 11 days after the ship date in the same state lol... But its new kydex arrived on the same day, so it must have been fate.

Thank you! I'll try to bust into it and lay out the contents in the appropriate thread soon. It's a pretty comprehensive kit.

I'm currently looking for a Tarahumara, or maybe a Junction to complement it for day hikes and light overnighters.

Has anyone measured or at least compared the thickness behind the edge bevel of a 3,4 and Izula? Especially compared to a 4, how does the Izzy cuts?

I've had one a long time ago, back in the RC days and it was quite thick behind the edge.

I was going to pick up the 440c izula but it’s out of stock everywhere. I don’t remember reading anything about it getting switched to s35vn. Maybe that’s the issue. Hopefully new production starts soon.

Ive not measured it. Id assume just by use that the three is the thinest then the izula and then the four. I dont know thats just my speculation. I usually take that shoulder area down with a file and polish it up anyway. Slices better for me. Dont do it on the choppers or batoners though.

If it is between the 3 and 4 then it is fine.
Removing the shoulder always makes them slice better, I agree. I have done it on the 6 and it is a cutting machine.

Its still thick dont get me wrong. But its not horrible. Stout is a better term i guess.
