I'm using a Lixada wood burning stove right now, and love it. I also have a few Fancy Feast stoves I made, and a Optimus Crux for when I'm lazy, lol. I'll have to take some pics.

They're super comfy, light and grippy, mine are about to get retired, the bottom is smoothing out.
Not sure if I want to buy something similar or a more sturdier leather boor from Lowa or hanwag.
These were smelly at one point, I got some spray from Granger brand to fix the smell.

Get a pair of Asolo Falcon GV hiking boots, you'll love them. Their not cheap, but they are awesome and they can be resoled. I love mine!

Pictures from my lunch outdoors with the F95NL and Core 4 stove.
On the banks of the river Dommel, sunny weather made it a pleasure to be outside.
The knife is just a dream to use for some featherstick to get the stove going, roughing up some birch bark to light with a firesteel.
Didn't scrape the firesteel with the F95NL as I don't want to scratch up the blade (I always use a dedicated striker for my firesteel).

I picked up an MSR pocket rocket 2 during that last REI sale for about 35 bucks. Heavier than the BRS, but much more bullet proof. Looking forward to cranking that up.

I have a MSR Whisperlite and a Jetboil Flash. I don't use either of them a lot, but the Jetboil is handy for those Mountain House meals etc...

It depends on where I am going and what I am doing but I use two stoves - this pocket rocket clone type thing I got on amazon years ago and a lixada wood burning round stove. I prefer the Lixada wood burning stove over a propane stove simply because you get far more use out of the wood burner types. You cant really get any sort of ambient heat coming off the propane. I generally take the pocket rocket propane on early season hunts because Im usually hunting a lot longer and I dont really want to deal with collecting wood and I generally dont need warmth. But nothing beats late fall winter hunting with a wood stove. You get 30 plus minutes if you know how to build the right fire for it and you can warm up your hands and feet and even easily start a campfire with just dumping the coals into a tinder pile.

But nothing also beats a propane stove when you are at 6k feet and its been dumping rain on you for 3 days and you just want to warm up your coffee and not deal with the elements.

Might be kind of a gross cleanup but I don't see why not. The hard part is going to be having enough coals for sufficient heat.

On a hike in Germany, a coffeebreak in a beautiful piece of forest on the Polish border this summer. Becker Bk7, Core 4 stove, Trangia 0.9l kettle, and Sea to Summit cups all making me a happy hiker :)
