Believe me when I say, that is no small feat. There is a reason so many knives are left with a lot of meat on them and quite heavy. Thank you for your support!

You kill me with your knives. That Kephardt is still my favorite though. Not your normal fare but such a beautiful blade. Look forward to see what you do with the LIT series.

Here's a PACKnife recently completed. I will be hollow grinding (as opposed to flat grinding) this model from here on in. Using a larger diameter wheel will still give it more than enough durability, while increasing the cutting aggression of the knife, which is more important than extreme toughness on a smaller knife like this.

This also has clear GunKote on the blasted finish, a great combo in my opinion.

My first thoughts were about tinder material getting packed down and stuck in the tube. I was thinking it would be cool to have a hook on the end of the fire steel to snag and pull out some cotton based tinder. It could even hold the tinder in place while you struck the fire steel. But then I realized that it would be easier to just use a little stick to dig it out.

What is that item that looks like a leather dog tag on a green cord?

Good point. I had given this quite a hit of thought, also. The solution I came up with (not necessarily the best, but the one I found to check the most boxes in the positive column) was to use wax impregnated jute twine. You can see it in the pic you posted, right next to the buttcap.

Once cooled down, it is fairly stiff. Then I simply fold it into 2"-3" segments (like an accordion) and it slides right into the handle around the firesteel. It remains near the top, so it is easy to extract and won't get packed down in the bottom of the handle. Your idea sounds good also.:):)

That is a leather sheath/cover for the compass. I have long been opposed (mildly, lol) to having the compass in the buttcap, for a variety of reasons explained ad nauseam in several of my videos.

This leather cover allows you to wear the compass around your neck (MUCH more convenient than taking the cap off your knife every time you need a bearing), and keeps it safe from shock and impact damage if you ever hammer with the knife. Those little compasses can be very fragile, and you would never know if a strike rendered it inaccurate until it was far too late. This solves all of those problems.:)

I really like that the firesteel is mounted on the cap and inside the handle. It'll be a lot harder to lose that way. ;)
