Yup. It's not my go-to method, but I use mine a few times a month depending on what I feel like that day.
I use it mostly to make strong coffees and espressos, but it's very easy to make regular coffee or just add water after you press it. I would definitely recommend it if you don't plan to just use it for Maxwell House or something. My favorite is either Valhalla Java or Murdered Out, with a touch of heavy cream after pressed.
I find a Moka pot from Bialetti to be superior to everything. I use it on the stove at home, on a fire in the woods, on an iron in a hotel, or pretty much anywhere else. my favorite coffee is also Murdered Out. I am on the subscription club.
The wife uses the aero press daily. Benefit/taste of a french press, but filters two diterpene compounds (cafestol and kahweol) that stimulate LDL (bad) cholesterol that a french press does not.
Our Bunn died after 11 years of use, and we've been using the Aeropress with an electric kettle every morning we're at home. It really does a great job of enhancing the flavor of the coffee versus some other methods. I usually brew with the Aeropress using the inverted method. There's a whole science to these things, and some people get super specific about weight of the grounds vs. the water and the time. I usually just drop in a scoop, pour to the top, flip it over a mug, let it sit a few minutes, and then press.
