Got my boys out for a hike, fun, and learnin'. Started off and came across this little guy. I picked him up and moved him off the road. Throwing rocks into a stream. They enjoyed learning about water flows, and how a creek can start off as a small spring, then get bigger and feed into a larger body of water. Olaf found Nutkin's tail, lol. Intro to landnav, using the free park map. Oldest boy is learning about the pH scale in science. They all collected water samples and got to test the pH level. We decided to follow this creek to its source. It gets more narrow. Random scenery. The point where the spring comes out of the ground. You have to look really close in this pic. Lots of crazy looking mushrooms. Almost stepped on this snail on the trip back to the truck. We moved him to the woods. And the obligatory knife porn.
Thanks. I want to learn about mushroom identification. They grow too quickly. Not too long and I'll be taking the baby out more. LOL! I was wondering if anyone else had eaten escargot.
@jeeter ....you ate escargot??!! Yuk....i moved to the US for a reason,i love burgers and BBQ sauce...screw that tire-like chewing snail thing!
