Coronavirus Concerns

I think it is going to be something in the middle. Most cases are going to be flu like, some will be severe and some will never even know they have had it. The key seems to be to keep it from getting to your lungs. I don't know how you can influence that other than giving your body the nutrition it needs to keep your immune system running the best that it can.

 

State of MA has declared state of emergency. And just got word from a school my friend works at they just closed for up to 5 weeks

 

Someone visiting from out of town tested positive in our neighboring county and the local school is closed till Tuesday for sanitizing because a visitor to the school had contact 12 days ago to someone who has since tested positive.

 

Might be of value to some here.

 

Wife’s school kicked everyone out at 5 this afternoon and they are running a drill to see how long it takes to wipe down the whole place.

Every door knob, light switch, bathroom, desk tops, all the frequently touched surfaces.

I think a couple of schools have closed due to persons testing positive that were in close contact with students.

Went to Walmart again tonight.
Almost zero toilet paper, almost zero rice, almost zero beans. Really low on cleaning supplies, ramen noodles, bread, sporadic canned foods.

I bought the things we would normally buy weekly, only I tripled up on everything.
We keep a pretty good pantry stock anyway.

Forgot to take the empty propane bottle to swap out, I’ll do that tomorrow.

 

Wisconsin colleges are canceling in-person classes. Students are going to be doing all coursework online instead. Here is the link from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. A lot of other colleges in the state are starting to follow suit...

The Boston Marathon has been postponed and the major theaters as well as Boston Garden cancelled shows/concerts

 

Waiting to see if they cancel belator fight tomorrow night at Mohegan.......

 

Ohio just closed schools till April 13. Wife to be is already being told to be ready to be moved from her Dr's office to the main hospital. They did a head count yesterday to see how many hospital staff would be affected by a school closing. Interesting times.

 

Schools are starting to close here for different amounts of time.

 

Where did you see the marathon was postponed? I can’t find that anywhere

Lots of schools in MA closing for the next two weeks. I won’t be surprised if it becomes statewide like Ohio.

 

I understand closing schools for 2 weeks will allow time to weed out potential cases in the students and staff. But what happens when they come back? You just start the cycle over again. We are having individual cases pop up all around us here in South GA.

 

our childrens school is closing to clean the entire place and scrubbing every 'high touch' place every 3 days. At work we are doing trial runs getting people onto the VPN so they can work remotely. A huge number of people like mailroom, facilities, etc... are getting VPN training despite not having any work they can do remotely. Its weird.

 

Schools are closing in Ann Arbor MI. I've been directed to work from home until further notice.

 

shtf just happened...our mayor implemented a 10 pm curfew on all bars and clubs until further notice nothing worse than coming home still sober.

 

That's pretty intense.

 

Our governor limited gatherings of over 1000 people, but most schools and whatnot are still running as usual.

 

I'm sure you have all heard but NCAA March Madness tournament had been canceled. NBA has suspended the season. MLB has postponed their season opener. NHL has suspended play. Also, Disney World is closing temporarily.
