I had the Strongarm and it is an incredibly strong knife, it took a lot of abuse.
I thinned the edge, unfortunately the steel did not reacted well to that, as it was quite soft.
With the original edge angle it is a fine knife.

Got a svord peasant for my birthday and decided to go after some silverthorn. Much more comfortable than I was expecting on hard push cuts. When people ask for a “bushcraft pocketknife” I think this needs to be in that arena more often. F4E5898A-58AE-45E0-B14B-CA903C8AF841.jpeg 225CC524-8AC9-4AED-80BA-A46D533FD8A4.jpeg

I have one of those as well. Same color too. I also carry it on occasion.

61 RC is pretty danged hard. Was it advertised as such, or did you test it?

Only hard for a factory blade. We run kitchen knives up to 63Rc these days, with the right steels. I tested it at over 64Rc out of the quench, and walked it down to 61 in the temper cycles. Was aiming for 62, but that might be expecting a bit much from a spring steel, tho impossible to say what alloy it is. Unlikely 5160, given how hard it got. I use a set of hardness chisels from Matt Parkinson in increments of 2Rc, so my precision is limited.

That looks to be about a perfect bushcraft style knife, how thick is the blade?
