The 455 came in over the weekend. The Oregon chain that I ordered came in the right box, but with the incorrect chain inside (Completely different length, pitch and series than I had ordered lol). Which actually ended up working perfect because the first thing I decided to tackle was a bunch of trees that have grown up around fence lines in the cow pen and pastures. Our property used to be a full on working cattle farm but hasn't been maintained in ~15 years or so.

How this ended up working out is that all of these little trees (6"-8" diameter) are either extremely close to the fence or literally growing through it. It's impossible to cut through these things without hitting the metal cattle panels or various other steel fixtures on the posts. This is obviously tearing up the chain and I'd rather it be the factory chain than my $25 Oregon LGX replacement.

Now that I have this thing in, I might get a little crazy with the old baby 240. Tear it down, clean it out and do a muffler mod to see if I can get it to run better.

Very nice that it worked out that way! What size bar are using?

Yeah, if the Oregon chain had been the right one, I would have immediately thrown it on without thinking about it and it would have been the one chewing up the metal fence instead haha.

I went with the 20" bar but I gave some thought into buying it with the 18" bar. I figured the 20" may run a little slower but I'd rather have the extra 2" in case I ever need them. If I find the 20" is just too long for my usual stuff, the 18" bar/chain is pretty cheap to pick up.

I have a 20 and an 18 for my 038. The 18 is a little handier (you wouldn't think that two inches sticking out would make as much difference) but I tend to leave the 20 on more often than not. If I am getting in among a big old fallen tree for firewood I prefer the 18 as it (mostly in my head I think) lessens the chance of kickback from catching a separate branch.

I did the same thing. I think an 18" bar is the jack of all trades. Mine has a 20" as well though. Since I have a smaller saw for limbs and small trees, I figured 20" just made more sense.

Brand new, my 09 Sierra was starting to circle the drain. We went into the stealership to look at 2017 Denali and they made a way better offer on this one. Nice not feeling like I gotta shoehorn the kids in their car seats in the extended cab I had LoL.

Good looking truck! I'm not sure I could swing new. Trucks these days are so damn expensive. A payment over $400 a month is too much for my blood. But man would do I think about it sometimes!

I did not wanna do it, but I’m so damn reluctant to part with one that’s paid off. If I didn’t keep them 10+ years there’s no way I could’ve justified it. It blows my mind that there was three or four tiers of upgraded packages over what I got. Looked at the window sticker on a 2020 Denali and it was almost $80K, damn thing better do autopilot for that much.

Trust me I work with guys who pay $1200 a month. That's absolutely insane. My mortgage is just under that. But for a vehicle that will depreciate, immediately!? I have a feeling we're going to see the bubble burst with vehicles the way we did with houses in 08. Not quite the same obviously, but the market can't sustain these prices indefinitely.

The problem is that when or if the bubble busts prices still won't come down. Instead the governments of the world will just bail the companies out again. The precedent has been set.

Until enough people refuse to buy new vehicles at their insane prices and put pressure on elected officials not to bail anyone else out or pass regulations that remove used cars as an option (it's coming) then nothing will change. Nothing.
