Chili was delicious, this is currently my only dutch oven and it definitely has me wanting one of the deeper ones, that served three people very easily but didn't leave much left overs.

I know it's old because of where I got it from, now it might be worth saving for a decorative plant pot or something.

It can be welded, won't be as purty but would be completely useable again.

Yeah there's special SMAW rods for cast iron, just make sure you have a pro do it because those rods are a PITA to use (in my experience).

Does anyone have any experience with Smithey or Stargazer cast iron? Looks like the ESEE social media has good things to say about Stargazer.

Installed a heavy duty 4’ Kenovo Duratrax rail/hook system in the kitchen today to hold my most used cast iron pans. It’s rated for 660 lbs when properly installed!

How do y’all store your cast iron?

Apologies Arti, I saw this a while back but then forgot to post...somewhere on YouTube there is a video of a side by side test of Lodge vs Field. If I remember right it showed virtually no difference in a $20 vs $200 skillet. I have seen the ones you mention used but in actual "does it cook different/better" ? I think it's just a matter of what you want in style and price. :)

    Got a new piece today.

Will work great on our stove, haven’t ever really used the large oblong burner before.
    This is perfect for it.
