IMG_20190526_155128-01.jpeg Maybe not "heavily" modified, but I'll open with my #0017 Junglas 2 with TKC scales and added finger choil ;)

Dude, that finger choil looks PERFECT.
IMHO, that makes for the PERFECT junglas or j2.

I might do something similar and add a clip point... :-D

What is the diameter of your finger choil? Did you use something, like a quarter?

It's a one inch (25 mm) diameter. I used a die grinder with a one inch sandpaper drum, after roughing it out with an angle grinder. Marked it on a piece of masking tape, using a piece of 25 mm rod as a template :)

Why would you add a clip point to a Junglas, just curious? :)

Ill jump in here, as a fan of the CM6, the clip point is a great way to shave a spark off a ferro rod. Also very stabby looking. Mostly looks but can be useful in my opinion.

If i had a need for that yes. The junglas for me is a farm fro and wouldn't be wise to thin out the top for that use. I could see a choil and a clip point being useful on the J2.

Id probably make fun on someone who did it to be honest but then again it would look cool so there is that.

I dunno...maybe just the last inch or so on a junglas, taken down to a clip point. Still gives plenty to baton, could be used for fine work with a little practice if it were the only blade handy.

A clip point doesnt have to be sharpened, nor does it have to be thinned, technically, although at some point your clip point and swedge definition will overlap

    That's pretty mean!

How did I somehow know what color it would be before I saw the picture?

    LOL

Okay not sure where to post this. So is there anyone on here that can strip a knife for me and change its color? I want it done to a candiru and a pinch I want them to look like esee did it. I want them to match the esee orange that I have. Someone must be able to help me here

Stripping it should be easy. Adding a powder coat might be difficult without the proper industrial tools. I might be totally off base with this since I have no experience with either!

I’ll probably just keep it black and and deal with it. I’m sure I’ll spend a crap ton trying to get them coated.

Yeah re-powder coating it would be too much work for what it is.

Sanded the coating off the blade only, squared the spine for striking a ferro rod and scrapping fuzz for tinder and added a choil. Nothing super drastic, but has made this 5 absolutely perfect, like a Laserstrike on roids.

Nothing crazy yet, just stripped and added a choil. I’ve always been a “choil-whore”. Contemplating adding thumb jimping, squaring the spine ahead of that for about an inch to strike a ferro rod the round the spine edge the rest of the way to the tip to not chew up batons as quickly.
