I've noticed a lot of SET (Sargent's) blades for sale over there recently. Theres 5 for sale threads with his knives just on the 1st page right now...Not trying to make this a negative discussion about the maker or that forum... just stating an observation and curious if people are not wanting to own his blades because of recent events or its just coincidence...

Randall knives never did anything for me. Im not saying they arent top quality, well-made knives. They just dont appeal to me, other than the model 17 and 18 and those are like any other hollow handled knife to me....just checked the website for fun and for the model 17 its estimated to be a 6 year wait.

The internet has a severe short term memory. Give him a few years and he'll be do weekly hanky "drops" on Instagram...

It could be. There was a similar story with another knife maker recently. People waiting years, out of lots of money, with no communication or explanation from the thief, I mean maker, I mean thief. All the while he was steadily delivering stuff to his high profile customers and friends. I had traded into one of his blades a few years ago and sold it to one of the guys he had screwed over for a tenth of what he was supposed to be paying for a similar knife. For whatever reason he still wanted one and I had zero interest in owning anything by the guy ever again.

There are always people like this out there. They make knives and sheaths and Jeep bumpers, etc, etc. And they get in over their heads and instead of stepping up and closing books/refunding money or at least issuing apologies they blame depression or family illness or computer failure or whatever.

And then people white knight for them because they're a "good guy" and they'll make it right and "stuff happens". If you have to be called out online and hounded to get any kind of response or refund then that says about all that needs to be said about the integrity and character of the maker. I mean thief.

112 degree heat index today... Then the storm with flash flooding came through and it was down in the 80’s then.
Gotta love summer weather in the south!

Gotta love some people.... So I used to have a taurus pt111 millennium pro and I had sold it to my roommates friend for $150. Well he didn't know how to put the take down pin back in and broke the spring. So he sent it to Taurus and after about 6 months they shipped him a replacement, a brand new g2c. So after he looked at it he decided he didn't like it and wanted to know if I'd buy it back. We agreed on $150, the original purchase price (since he didn't pay any extra for it). Well today he brought it by and was wanting $250, the price it is at Academy, per my roommates "search". Not only is it cheaper then that out there, but I don't feel I should pay more than what what I got and what we agreed on. Thoughts?

Edit: I figured I would turn around and sell it myself to get my money back, but I'd never get full new price.

IMO... He could have reasonably negotiated a increase before hand. BUT it is wrong to pre agree on a price and change the price at time of sale. Sale value or trade value is a concept I have always had a problem with because there is no set structure to it.

Exactly, he could've beforehand. I would've passed then and he'd be stuck with or have to sell the gun himself.

Stuff like the bait and switch or "actually it's this price" are shady as heck. I'd politely tell him to kick rocks.

....walk away with a polite thanks but no thanks. It's not worth the aggravation.

You have nooo idea.. Lol. And I found this and sent it to him with this.. "technically the gun is used since it left the manufacturer and you opened and handled it. I'll buy it for the agreed price of $150 or I'll pass."

I find the cheapest new price out there. Screenshot_20190820-173643_Chrome.jpg
