Probably an immediate reaction to the venom that caused respiratory failure. We had a similar case with a young guy close to me a few years back.

Obviously recently hatched trying to make it to water, found it next to the bricks surrounding the garden. Gave it a hand (literally) and put it in the north sink, plenty of duck weed and not to many predators.

Not a reptile, but I’m pretty sure it’s venomous. :D

    One from the news here.....

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-07/snake-skin-massive-cairns-man-found-on-walk/11579638

....I would love to know the back story to how it ended up here.

Years ago I was deer hunting in Queensland and stepped over what I thought was a small log.....about crapped myself when the log decided to slither away into the bush. That said, I knew it was a BIG python so the fear factor is much lower (more startled) than had it been a small Taipan (which frequented the same area). The only time I thought about that python more was nighttime there as we were sleeping on the ground all week under a leanto, I kept seeing it making it's way into my swag to say hello in the night..... LOL
