I don't remember seeing any threads about swords here on the forums. Anyone have any?

Had a couple of replica ones when I was a kid but have been thinking it might be fun to buy a functional one...

No but ive always wanted a real battle ready one. Even if its a cold steel. They now have a pretty inexpensive kitana machete

Damon Lusky of Alfa Knives made these a few years back and I loved them. Theyre pretty much what i would want. I'd also like to see what kind of sword Todd Hunt (TM Hunt) could come up with...

Condor makes a decent viking sword and their Falchion doesn't look bad, either.

That is a nice price on something that you can actually use if needed!

Like the look of both of these.

Saw this Condor Yoshimi yesterday and think it looks awesome. They advertise it as a machete but it resembles a sword as well. It is 4.3 mm thick, 19" blade, and 29" overall.

I had one of these and it was amazing. Until it was stolen with all my other stuff back in 2013. Y’all are making me want to buy another

Depends on what function, and what style. There are probably 50 or so around here (no wallhangers).

You can get a functional katana, forged using traditional methods, for $250-$400, depending on the specifics of what you want. They are made by smiths in China, not Japan. It won't have a final mirror polish and the furniture will be very basic, but if you want something you can actually use they work well. I have one and I don't have to cry when it gets stains and scratches from cutting stuff in the yard. If you don't care about having a hamon you can get them even cheaper. Like $100.
