G.E Chen Duty. A custom and mid tech maker from China. A few guys that know his stuff say he was before his time. This one is number #76 of 300. You can find a few Duty II models around. This is the knife design that I’ve been searching for a long time, and S35vn is my favorite steel.

I gotta take more knife pictures. I’ve been carrying my Spyderco Manix 2XL a lot lately as well as my CPK FK2. I forgot how nice S30V can be for edge holding.

Reno, that 124 is gorgeous! I love Buck knives and the Frontiersman is one of the best looking of them, for me at least.
It always makes me dream about some deep woods adventure in the high mountains, by just looking at it.

Make sure you coat the edge with clear nail polish or the like before etching just in case it dribbles.

Oops too late. :D But it’s holding steady with good surface tension

BTW I have a giant bottle of ferric chloride if you want some . I can decant it into a Nalgene bottle, and ship inside a Nalgene water bottle for safety.

I actually might take you up on that. Seems impossible to find in smaller amounts here. Wouldn't mind being able to etch some logos.

The 5 is coming along. Not sure why people are saying that 2 - 5 minutes with ferric chloride is enough to deep etch the logo....,it’s been 30 minutes and it’s really not that deep of an etch.
