Listening to the new disturbed album. “A reason to fight” while smashing lagers and IPA’s.

One day when we all meet in Valhalla, beers are on me.

My heritage is pure bread old school Icelandic Viking. Separated only by two generations. Grandma was from Iceland.

    Valhalla is sacred.

My heritage is traced directly to Erik the red. My heritage extends to Norway and Greenland.

    Git sum.

@Bushman5 has been there for me when times were tough, given me advice, looked for jobs for me, sent me the most amazing knife ever in an unprecedented gift mail order of awesomeness. The prestigious, notorious Tops Operator 7.

Tomorrow is a milestone for both of us.

    15 years of history.

    Think about that.

Our adventure begins with me driving up to meet @Se7eN at his hotel in Squamish.

Epic meet and greet. We were giggling on the drive up to the Brew Creek FSR. I warned @Se7eN that the BushTracker was slow on hills, reeked of exhaust (keep the windows open) and that the brakes were an option. More laughter. Oh and that it may not start because the battery is toast. But i have a 20 year old battery in the back with a partial charge and jumoer cables. We're good to go! More laughter.

    IMG_7484.JPG

We drove up the FSR, the BushTracker just slaying the steep grades. Crossed the derelict bridge and headed up even steeper sections.

    IMG_7479.JPG IMG_7482.JPG

it was going up this steep section that i noticed the brakes were going to the floor. More laughter.
    IMG_7483.JPG

reached the end of the FSR (the rest was too overgrown) and there was 2 guys that had just parked their Toyota 4runner. They looked a little surprised at out arrival. I was about to keep driving thru the undergrowth and carry on, when one of them said the road ends for good in 50 feet. I said....It just begins for this 4x4 rig....Muhahaha!

We chatted for a bit and I parked the rig then unloaded the gear.

once again, we made people very nervous. I had just unloaded my L.R.R.P.R. rig and placed it on the ground. @Se7eN was strapping his drop leg rig on with the massive BUSSE knife.

uh...what are you guys doing here? one of the guys asked, looking nervous. Are you hunting?

no no @Se7eN replied, we're just crazy. Dying inside with laughter, I replied, just scouting deer and spots for a base camp for a future hunt. Plus a little survival training.

The two guys were visibly nervous. They left and started hiking. We gave them a 5 minute lead and then headed out ourselves.

pissing rain out. I was disappointed because I had told @Se7eN the views from up here are amazing. Despite the rain, we headed out. And up. AND UP.

    more

@Se7eN has trip report details too plus mega photos! this will be a few days of writing.

This trip, this adventure, was an absolute riot.

We laughed our a$$es off, scared peasants, found fat wood ( of course) and cooked a feast.

Giant slopes of lava LEGO blocks, all crumbling ready to crush anything in their path. It was highly probable that a small
Tremor could bring the mountain down behind us, blocking us from a vehicle assisted decent.

Furthermore, the garibaldi barrier could potentially let go, killing millions in its tsunami like tidal wave that would be released if it fractured.

Every good adventure starts with crossing a condemned bridge. Bushy and I got out to inspect prior to crossing with the bush tracker.

The low hanging cloud cover was blocking most of the view, but we didn’t care. We were just pumped to climb the mountain!

After the co for ration with the peasants from vancouver, @Bushman5 and I geared up and headed out. It was pissing rain and everything was SOAKED. My halftrack was covered with its waterproof Multicam rain cover, and I had my camp north face rain coat on.

As @Bushman5 and I ascended I to the high mountain forest, we were both excited for what was to come. We laughed our whole way up the mountain. We knew there was nothing we couldn’t figure out and no situation that could defeat us aside from an act of god. Up into big cat and grizzly country we go.
