Those are actually kydex sheaths brother. They're just covered in leather and lined with felt for silence and aesthetics.

My local gun store has had 1 for the past year. Every couple weeks or so I'll go by and fondle it . Falling more and more in love with it

2F1A7375.JPG IMG_3089.JPG I picked up an Operator a couple or three years ago by ordering and picking it up at the shop in Boone. Great EDC or outdoor/hiking knife.

Beautiful blade. What do you think of the rubber handle?

    Also, welcome to the forum!

    Thanks for the welcome.

I love the rubber handle...I can't imagine getting another Winkler without it. I have NOT done any long cutting sessions with it but I think it would be fine. Cut 550 cord, opened Backpackers Pantry meals, HARD stuff like that. :D

Of all the knives I bought and sold, I think the one I regret was a Winkler Knives II Belt Knife. Smooth maple, tapered tang, beautiful sheath and a great edge. It was a thing of beauty.

I agree about the Belt Knife.
It has a quiet power about it.

Simple, beautiful, and tough as nails.

Part French Trade Knife, part modern masterpiece, all the while being descrete and subtle.
It doesn’t scream anything. It just does its job.
