...... now that just sucks !!! Warranty work ?? I had my nose rebuilt a few weeks ago, can't say it was a pleasant process nor has the recovery been fun, that all said I went back to work last week (just Thursday and Friday to ease myself back into it) got up today and out nowhere I have hayfever like symptoms....including sneezing about every two minutes which feels like a punch to the left side of my face each time it happens..... nearly 8hrs of it now. Only lasted 4hrs at work and told my Boss that I will be on the phone at home if he needs me...! Bleh !!

made some hikers nervous today.......they crested a rise on the FSR and I was right there, blending in nicely with the roadside greenery. Their dog was super nervous about me but I disarmed his caution in seconds with a few clicks of my tongue, and he came running over and sniffed me. Wouldn't leave my side after scratchies.

Chatted briefly with the two hikers (male/female) , they asked me what i was doing, i said scouting for good deer hunting areas.

I was heading back down the same way as them. was padding softly beside them for about 1/4 km. Noticed the male put himself between his wife and me. Got to where their vehicle was parked on the FSR and he suddenly grabbed her arm and drew her back, saying "hey lets stop for more photos".

there was nothing to photograph really....just overgrowth weeds and brush at this point.......hmmmmm......

i waved and said goodbye and kept walking. Pulled off my sunglasses to "clean them" and noticed in the reflection that he had the camera pointed right at me, tasking several pics as I walked away. He pointed at me and I could see them talking...he looked really spooked .

granted, I did emerge suddenly and silently from the shrubbery on the side of the FSR, (i had been taking pics of the valley). So i can understand his panic.

middle of nowhere, extremely rugged terrain, narrow old overgrown FSR, and some guy looking like me steps out of the forest silently , which spooks them, and befriends their dog instantly. The woman was clueless, the guy was a little more situ aware....

    LOL...I'm super friendly and approachable.....I think..... :D

It's not the sunglasses. It's the shorts. Definitely the shorts.

I'm pretty sure he was worried that you were going to steal his girl.

I'm currently working as a park ranger around the lake, we're dealing with a lot of flooding and as a result, many of our areas are closed, including the swim beaches. About 21:00 last night I came across a group of teens swimming in the blocked off area and jumping off tree limbs into the water. I pulled up, walked up to the water and ordered "OUT OF THE WATER, NOW!" Prompt response, out they went, swam over to a flooded campsite. I met them over there, gave them a good stern talking-to about the reasons certain areas were closed, the dangers of what they were doing (underwater water hydrant/bench/BBQ grill to the skull) and strongly recommended they escort their lady friends home and call it a night. The only responses I got were shaky "ye-yes sir". I'm not big on scaring the crap out of a bunch of kids, but that's better than one of them drowning due to being knocked unconscious in the water.

In part, but I haven't talked to him yet. I received a text from a loved one I haven't heard from in over two years

I believe it may have been a concern due to length of said shorts. His fear, her interest...or vice versa.

So it wasn't a phone call but we did talk some. I found out he had two strokes 4 years ago, so I can add that to the family history. He has also had a heart attack, as had I and his father died from one. Plus he has diabetes, again as I do as well. These would've been good to know growing up, but as an adoptee, we don't have any rights really. Especially if it's a closed state.
Anyway it wasn't a bad conversation, but he didn't want to talk about his parents (my grandparents) or his childhood. Which I respect that, as it took me years to talk about mine. He still isn't sure that we're related, but that could be the stroke that messed up his memory or he didn't know about me. We will find out after he gets his dna results back though. At least he is willing to do that for me.

I hope you find what you're looking for. Making connections with unknown family members can be difficult, but I'm glad you have found this much. Good luck.

The BIG plus that I hear from this is that he hasn’t said there in NO WAY your my kid. I am sure you know where I am going with this.
If he does turn out to be your father then hopefully you can have the conversation of WHO might be your mother...

He did deny it once but that's all. Well except for today when he said he didn't know if we were related. But he had strokes so I'm thinking that may be why. And yes, I'm really hoping to find out about her! She was the one I was looking for to begin with lol.
thanks man, I really appreciate that. It's been rough but rewarding at the same time.

    @Andy the Aussie
I think the hay fever / new allergies after nose surgery tends not to be very well covered... You are not the first person I’ve heard had issues. More like the 5th-10th... person... Something about a whole lot of new pollens and other airborne stuff that now have nice new unrestricted access to your sinuses..
As far as dental I’m not to concerned if they will fix it.. ( I talked to them today and hopefully it’s getting fixed Wednesday) Its just a major kick in the teeth so to say as I cannot use a straw yet and I cannot eat with either side of my mouth at the moment . Made for a interesting day having to chew carefully with my very front teeth and then trying to swallow with out the sides of my mouth.. It’s a lot trickier then it even sounds..
