you vs me. Any size Potjie or cast iron implement of destruction we have available to us - a friendly diss cook showdown between Esee Bros

any kind of meat/poultry/fish , any veggies, fresh or frozen, beer or wine or soupstock for broth and whatever the heck we both want spice wise.

Slooooow cooked......indoors or out. Real fire or charcoal or grill or stove or oven,.....

show all prep & ingredients , including knives and beers, fire and Iron!

show final dish, in whatever you choose to present it.

Lets go man.....load up your ghetto blaster boom box with D cells and crank some music while you whip up some awesome,,,,think of this throwdown like the old school 80's break dancing showdowns!

It's going to be difficult to top the pure awesomeness of that time the Bushman hauled the potjie 5 k out on the snow in a pulk by snowshoe. . That was truly epic...I might have to do something of near insane proportions to top that.

my 3 meat choices

 

Mmm mmm. I do like me some lamb. Can't get the rest of my gang to eat it unfortunately . Mine will be with pork, chicken, & shrimp. "Is that...woodsmoke..I smell?"

 

thanks to HOA/STRATA rules, I cannot enjoy the basic finer things in life, like a BBQ/Grill.........

so i'm going to have to take my TemboTusk Skottle, my Potjie pot, and my Pelican coolers out into the woods for this cook off.

My recent camping spot recon trip (see Adventures) will be the perfect spot to drink beer, play with knives (got a new YN*Dotte Brush Creek Knives Nessmuk to play with....) and get in some proper outdoor Potjie cooking time!

there will be bears......with the grilling and smoking of meat/..........there will be bears....LOL!

 

Bear meat cooked in a Potjie is an automatic win.

 

Human meat cooked by a bear is an automatic disqualification.

 

I offer my most humble apologies guys. I had planned to do an epic cook up out on the local reservoir. For a nominal fee you can get a camp slot with an electrical outlet box and a spigot for potable water. These were an important feature. It's was 93 f @ 86 % humidity ( sticky hot ) and thanks to the constant rain we've been getting....



We have clouds of these bloodsucking vampires all day, every day. These buggers hit you and it feels like an 12 gauge shot needle. Actual "sting" like a flu shot hit. Even HD Deet won't deter them, they suck it up like liquid meth. The wind created by my shop fans will hold them at bay. Hence the need for the rental site.
Mother Nature conspired against me and the whole rec site is closed. Tornado/wind damage. Big steel pipe gate closed and locked. A second site about 12 miles away was hosting a large cycle enthusiast gathering. No open slots.
I set up my "rig" on the patio, but it was not the epic backdrop I had hoped for. Uploading pics as we speak, stand by....
