Ugh this Weber is a pain to start. Used the choke, carb flooded. Put new Iridium NGK spark plugs in, checked the timing manually.

Fired up very briefly but instantly died.

Ran the battery down as well..... back on the charger

Soon, very soon......the venerable BushTruck will explore again.......need a few more things dealt with on it after Weber carb / Pacesetter header install..........but soon.......soon

29 fricking years old, over a million KM's on it. SO MANY ADVENTURES AND EXPLORING , so much logging and firewood hauling over the years, plus delivery driving.......4wheeling where it should never have gone..........(its 2wd but i have a 4 ton Come-A-Long), river crossings up to the dashboard to get to the salmon holes on the Fraser River

hot oiled 4 times a year, everywhere....only now JUST getting a spec of rust on the body.

every time i open the doors...there is a odor of vinyl, plastic, and oil and forest.....those of you with OLD trucks know what im talking about.......its heaven to me.

Once the wiring harness is cut down...there will literally be less than 12 wires ....... zBTMrzyl.jpg

Ah unfortunately nothing so cool. This is an old UST Tube tarp I bought way back in college. Still going strong though so haven't replaced it. Just re-waterproofed the seems last season though.

Spent the day at my summer job “hugging trees” the waxed canvas HPG Kit Bag is the berries for carrying a GPS, DBH tape, flagging, markers, pens, pencils (and HK VP9) while surveying oak trees for invasive insects. C04F80F4-5B67-4126-B8AB-E6ABC876135C.jpeg

Looks like it’s going to be a great way to spend this summer.

arrives at work today. The lead driver looked apprehensive and told me not to get too worked up.

my "meter" started going red....... "what?" i said.....o_O

he said the other driver dropped a full concrete bin on the side of your truck.

o_Oo_O WTF? i said.....got out of my pickup and walked over to my tandem axle Sterling.

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

he couldn't wait 5 bloody minutes for me to move my truck before pulling the loaded bin from beside it? o_O:mad: I was just outside the truck yard , waiting for a lumber Super B Train to make the turn

A quick, simple lake side dinner: build fire, add meat.

    20190509_194621.jpg 20190509_201637.jpg 20190509_200824.jpg 20190509_200245.jpg

I've been trying to do more smaller cooking fires as it's easier to deal with them and better fits my normal needs.

This one consisted of two wrist thick hanging deadwood branches maybe 7ft long apiece with a small pile of thin limbs attached. No tools used other than a ferro rod. I broke the wood apart with my hands to get to the dry stuff. Scraped some tender piles using a rock.

Increasing the difficulty was the fact that it had rained most of the day and did again off and on while I was building the fire. The Y stick in one of the pics was there to support a quick cover of branches if the rain got too hard before the fire could sustain itself.

It’s a “Nope Rope” not to be confused with a “Danger Noodle”

It's a long nosed snake. Singular nose scale makes a good tool for uncovering buried lizards and such. Super docile snake. Generally won't even bite when you pick em up.

My wife, daughter and I cleared it in 2.5 hours, lots of gawking. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why half the people were walking looking at the trail then the masterpiece of awesomeness before them. It left me astounded, so much to see. If you’re in the area, go do it.

Some pics weren’t great, upward draft and dust particles made my pics look foggy. It was pretty dark in some areas, surprised my phone was able to kick out enough light! I picked out a few, had over 200 pics. Enjoy!

My wife was so excited, you can see her running down on the first pic.

Went to The Gathering Place this morning.

    Still haven’t seen everything.

Here are a couple of the play areas for the younger kids.

We didn’t venture over to the larger structures today. Or the ancient forest, or the sensory garden. Or the swings. Or the reading castle.
