Hunting wild chukar is like no other form of bird hunting. The amount of vertical feet you climb in a day for a few birds in the bag is absurd if you think about it too much. Tough and strangely addictive, if you have somewhat masochistic tendencies. As they say, "the first time you hunt chukar it's out of curiosity, and every time after that is for revenge."

A few pics from hunts I've done down toward SW Idaho and northern NV:

@Hammer, loved those Chuckar pics. Not many know what they are. They will make you work for it. Most say, “The hell with this..” The biggest insult is pushing them to some rimrocks, they jump, get a few shots in and charge down the hill after them. They’ll run around you and go back to the top of the hill while chucking, sounds like an old person laughing. I dont think I ever jumped the same covey more than twice in the same day. Good eating!

A lot of the time, you ended up doing this while chasing Chuckar.

I miss my SW Idaho bird hunting days. 4 years of absolute hunting heaven. Dove, quail, pheasant, duck, chukar, some damn good healthy eating! We had duck blinds and sneak boats on the Boise and Snake Rivers.

Remington 870 20 3 inch full choke would just about cover everything.
All I could afford "back in the day".
Later I found a nice Browning A5 12 for duck duty.

It's at least out right? Lol. Not my typical area and way too crowded but it's where I was put. Not complaining at all but can't wait to get home. 20190412_135130.jpg

@Dennis Adams, nice scatter guns! I have the same 870, except it’s a 2 3/4. My dad made me learn with a .410 first, when he finally let me take the 20 gauge out, I shot pretty well with it and it covered all the bases from foul to dove.

Love that Browning! I’ve often thought about snapping up the new sweet 16.

Not necessarily organic, but healthy, doctors orders. I got the blood test results back yesterday.

    High red blood count
    High triglycerides
    High cholesterol
    Modest diabetes
    Low testosterone
    Change in EKG

Waiting on the results from the EKG still.

So it's either start eating healthy or die.

Know what you mean though, lol, but I'll leave that up to the rest of ya :D
