The active retention and blunted tip is huge for me. I've purposely avoided adding a knife to my sar vest because we've had a couple of team members come into contact with people who tried to make a grab at a chest mounted knife.

@Jeff Randall I cannot honestly say that I could ever use this knife for what it was designed for... BUT I sure as heck would love some Orange Izula sheaths! :)

I'm thinking that I'm going to hit the handle area with orange or yellow paint and then apply something like the tape below, which is grippy but not like sandpaper, to the center section so it doesn't interfere with the retention strap. And it can be found with reflective or glow in the dark strips.

We could always powder coat orange but I just hate powder coat. Maybe if we taped off the blade section and powder coated just the handle :)

We could do some testing. Paint one orange and leave one silver and take photos under different circumstances. Id suspect either would be visible but its worth a trial.

Paint it yellow. That way everyone else's will look like Jeff's.

My preference for a high visibility color is because I'll likely use it as a multipurpose tool at some point and will drop it in a river pool or lay it down in some rocks and yellow or orange (or bright blue) helps me find it quicker.

Plasti dip may work for a diy solution.

I don't see any pics, just [IMG]

We found pink to be the most visible color. Seriously

Orange and green, the two most common high vis colors, are pretty common in nature. Anyone who thinks orange sticks out has never dropped an orange knife on the leaf cover ground in late October.

this is a good option or the rubber DIY handle dip....

an orange Paracord wrap would work too...

Yeah, there's about two weeks a year in the TAG region of the southeast where orange and yellow won't do you much good (maybe a month farther north) . The other fifty weeks a true bright orange is usually good to go.

Green generally sucks year round and yellow definitely has weaknesses away from water, rocks and caves.

A bright blue is good year round. I can see bright pink working well, also.

I definitely agree with you on this one. I’ve tried every colour of flagging tape out there at work surveying in just about every environtment and I’ve settled on Glo Pink, I buy that stuff by the case lot.

Nice setup. I like it. Not something that I need, but I applaud the design. Well done.
