    @erik
I will have to give it another good look over but I didn’t see any obvious damage when I was wiping them down earlier. I would probably lean towards duller but if you see the photo where I was using it to make curls it ate through the board fairly well if using the right spot..
I will point out thou that I did observe a obvious discoloration of the blade after use. If you look at the picture below you can clearly see what part of the blade was used to cut the board..
That nice discoloration straight down the middle of the blade...

IDK.. I can’t explain it... pieces came from the same 2x4 and 2x6...

And no obvious similiar markings on the other blades..

Interested in edge retention, corrosion resistance and toughness. I do know these are not carbon steel.

I sharpened #3 on arrival and gave it a little stropping. I stropped #1 and 2 just because and it never looked like i did anything to them. When i sent them to RMD i didnt sharpen or coat them with anything. Was hoping to see a nice patina develop on these with every user. But thats just me.

Good to know. I just want to be able to actually "rate" their edges based on what they've been put through and how long it's been since last sharpened.

I did not, they were still shaving sharp when I sent them out.

I have not sharpened or stropped any of them. Before packing I wiped them down with oil but nothing else( The world/ testing is better if I don’t try... its scary...)

Got these shipped off today to @Bcamos !
Got me my 2 pieces of awesome swag :) Thanks again @shaneadams90 and folks for the chance to try these out!

Just reference for folks down the list. The knives plus swag are to big for a small flat rate box but easily fit inside a medium flat rate box with LOTS of room.

I have used the envelopes as well until I shipped 2 ESEE 4’s I sold to a fellow forum member and when the package arrived it was ripped open then taped back shut and one ESEE 4 was missing. I filed the insurance claim had the usps search for it to no avail. At the end insurance wouldn’t pay and I had to cover the cost to repay said forum member. I will never use envelopes again.

I'm going to need to back out for now. Looking at the possible time I'll be getting these is during a hectic time for me. If it is possible for me to have these during April 11th to the 14th then that can be great. During that period in April will have me at the Chamberlain Traditional Archery shoot which means MtnFolkMike will be there and usually Brian of Sargent Edged Tools, Caleb of Angler Knives and Damien of First Peoples Tools will also be there. Something to think about.

Right off the bat, number 3 has a super toothy edge. I won’t know until I sharpen them if this is a characteristic of the steel itself or a circumstance of how the 3 have been sharpened/stropped by the other guys.

Ruger has already picked out a favorite.

Okay enough screwing around with the horses.

Each knife was wiped off with alcohol. The two “knife-like” objects that aren’t ESEE-4s are some things I ground out made of 1095 and AEB-L. They aren’t heat treated and they’re satin instead of stonewashed but I figured they might give some interesting feedback. Each knife got a few drops of salt water and a few drops of Lemon juice.

We’ll see how things are in a few days.
