    I’d rather have a 17 slide with a 19 grip.

G43x and G48 pics and specs have been released.

Hopefully the silver finished slides won't become a regular thing with new Glocks.

Cool pair of pistols. I am a little disappointed that the mags aren't compatible with the G43 though.

I think I'm going to look passively for a G48; as in not get on one of the preorder lists, not go looking for one and hope no one waves one they bought but didn't like under my nose at a good price.

    My reasoning is two fold.
First, it keeps me from having to either have the slide coated something darker or buying a SOB holster and hanging out with Martin Lawrence saying stuff like "Now that's how you drive! From now on - That's how you drive!" and "It ain't exactly a pool, man. It's like a big-ass puddle wrapped in blue plastic.".

Second, maybe given a little time Glock will release normal models with black slides.

Realistically I'm going to avoid gunshops when my wife is with me because based on her handgun preferences if she handles one of these I'll likely end up buying a couple and then having to have the slides coated.

I too will be looking for a G48. Not hot and heavy unless I can get the Damascus CRK I am trying to sell sold. If it sells I'll have my dealer put me on a list. If not, I'll get around to getting a G48 down the road. I too would prefer a black slide but the two-tone isn't going to be a deal breaker for me. My buddy is a factory armorer at GLOCK and said he didn't like them at first but over time they have grown on him.

Handled and shot a G48. The finish is much duller than it looks online. Far less douchy.
    Shoots really nice.

    Wife handled one too.
I sold a chopped G45 that I haven't even gotten back yet and ordered two G48s. May possibly pick up a G43x as well.

So word on the street is that the 43x/48 frame will accept a regular G43 slide. I'm seriously tempted to pick one up to make a Frankenglock so that I can get myself into the 10 round slimline stuff for much less than buying the full pistol.

It's true. And there are a lot of lightly used G43s floating around for those that don't have one.

A G43x is likely going to become my wife's go to pistol. She likes the grip, Glocks in general, and it's something she can actually conceal fairly easy.

Yeah I'm leaning toward picking up one of those frames to give it a shot. I'd like to rent one first and put some rounds through it to get a better feel before committing though.

Picked up a 43x started carrying it off duty maybe a month ago now put about 500 rounds through it maybe a 100 of those my +p gold dot duty ammo...it is my favorite pistol at least of the ones I own and shot. Simple, small, shots well, comfortable when somebody makes a 15 round mag for it and they will the game will have changed

Any opinion on how it carries compared to something along the lines of a Glock 19?

I bought a G48 and already have it up for sale locally. I never even fired it. I love the way it feels in hand BUT I carried it around the house pretty extensively to see how well it felt and concealed and decided as much as the grip printed I might as well carry a G19. I don't want to do that so I'm back to my G43 full time. Hoping to move the G48 locally without losing my shirt. I had already bought some extra mags and had a holster made waiting for it to arrive. Oh well. Live and learn.

That's pretty much how I felt as soon as I heard glock was offering these models. The only part of a pistol that's difficult to conceal is the grip. Makes no sense to me to offer a shorter sight radius.
