We are going to bushcraft training in October and will have a extra 4-5 days.Driving from Oklahoma and looking for suggestions for when we get done and start to come home.looking for some awesome stuff to do,not just normal day hikes etc, something that will just be icing on the cake from the time spent traning. We hike, camp, spin fish for anything we can eat, short hunts etc.
    Thanks

Heck, I'd head over to P. Rollins house, invite Ethan Becker and Expat...demand cupcakes and whiskey. :D

If you don't have a wife, you can marry your 1st cousin or sister in Alabama

Well, I'd ask Shane about that before I decided to go there.

Last time I ate there was after we had roasted raccoon and opossum chili. That could have skewed my opinion. If your not used to eating rat it will upset your stomach. :)

    Bankhead national forest.

Coming from Oklahoma and through Arkansas there is a ton of public land in Arkansas.

Bankhead/Sipsey is probably the best bet for being able to get away from people and do hard things.
I like Buck's Pocket but it's like Little River Canyon; a fun place to explore but gets small fast when you want to disappear. Buck's Pocket does have a retarded coyote though (unless one of the locals have dealt with him). Like straight out of the Lion King crazy hyena retarded. And a lot of venomous snakes. So it has that going for it.

Cheaha has a lot of national/state forest around it, but the Sipsey is better in my opinion.

FYI Smokey C’s is only open for lunch Monday through Friday but on the upside it is a short 30 minutes from Bankhead.

He can and probably should. The hand picked, helpful professionals at Smokey’s will gladly assist with a smile. They’re an absolute joy.
