Sad news @Bushman5 , one of the reasons I’m proud to own a Winkler knife is because of the people behind the company, I wish them all the best as they deal with this loss, RIP Damon.

Since my Winkler became a user.... Does anyone have experience with the rust resistance of that steel?

It’s a tool steel, no rust resistance really, just keep it oiled and don’t leave it in wet conditions for extended periods.
Haven’t had any rust on my Belt Knife yet, but I do try to wipe it down with oil after use.

Would anybody here happen to have any small Winkler goodies they might be willing to let go of? A keychain, patch, sticker etc?

Could be wrong, but I believe that's an SD2.

Brand new addition. Hammer Combat Axe in Caswell and black micarta. Basically a virtually indestructible 80CrV2 hatchet right on par in size and weight with my long time favorite, the Gransfors Wildlife hatchet.

I think I'm going to design a simple leather mask for this one, and I'll certainly end up reprofiling the edge to my liking.

And once I can figure out how to do that handle wrap properly (mostly just how to finish the knot properly), I think I might throw some OD or coyote milspec 550 on there instead of the black.

Overall, I really, really like this thing.

Seen here with the "Caution! Make sure you use the mask correctly!" sticker still on the mask:p

Posted this up in the gallery, but figure it belongs here as well.

Re-wrapped the hawk with some milspec coyote 550 cord. Managed to keep really good tension on the whole thing even while tying the hidden knot.
