    Necro..

    Ok 3 question.
#1 Maybe I have completely missed the memo over the years.. BUT is there a way to add a extension to the GI issue style canteen cups?? I spotted a trick for the older style/ design of cups but the new dual folding in wire type is what I’m stumped on...

    Older style trick..

The more modern USGI type style I am looking to actually extend.

Can anyone tell me the actual weight of the pathfinder USGI style canteen cook set? I have a pouch that should work for either but it looks like the Heavy Cover cook set is 1 pounds and I’m curios how much more weight the pathfinder set is...

#3 Does anyone have experience with the Ozark Trail brand SS cook set? The price is right at about $10 but I personally have never used one..

I just went ahead and measured my Pathfinder canteen set @RocketmanDane

    The canteen is 10.95 oz
The canteen cup is 8.25 oz
    The lid is 2.10 oz
    The stove is 4.10 oz

I hope that helps. If you need to know anything else, just holler.

@HelRaiser That is awesome thank you!
I gotta ask.. Can you please measure the canteen also if you have it?
By my math adding the nalgene canteen at 4.75 oz it brings it in at 19.2 oz only 3.2 oz more then the Heavycanteen.

I went ahead and ordered up the Heavy Cover canteen and lid combo.

I have multiple military issue canteen pouches tucked away somewhere. But im not sure which I’m going to use. I actually have a newer style one designed to cover the whole bottle and has mesh in the bottom for drainage. Very similiar to the one below.

good choice on the Nalgene Oasis canteen. They are also heat rated so you can set them NEAR a fire or heat source, or pour boiling water into them
