My very first SAK was a Hunter. What a great model!

It’s my favorite SAK. Wife got it for me in Interloken Switzerland when we first started dating. Sent it into the northeast shop last spring to have the combo tool swapped out cause the original snapped diagonally while tightening a hose clamp. They covered it under warranty and put the original scared scales back(per my request) and refurbished all the tools. Couldn’t be happier with their service.

Okay. I need some help. So I EDC the orange alox farmer. I really like it but there is one tool I feel it lacks and that is... the multipurpose hook. Don’t ask me why but I feel I need this feature. Anyway, looking saks I think the field master is the closest. I don’t really need the scissors, the sewing awl is a nice upgrade along with the Phillips. I use the can opener and saw all the time. My fear is the fieldmaster won’t be as comfortable. Does anyone have comparison shots of them next to each other? Thanks

Have you used cellidor scaled SAKs before? I find them to be very comfortable in the hand. As nice or better than alox.

If you are concerned about the extra bulk of the Fieldmaster in you pocket I'd say you'll probably notice it a little, but not much. And you'll get that hook that you're after :) Not to mention the other extra tools on board the Fieldmaster. I love having the toothpick and tweezers.
The springs on the Fieldmaster wont be quite as strong and the blade will be a little smaller/thinner.

I dont have a modern Fieldmaster but this this one was my grandfathers. Should be similar enough to give you an idea.
I believe the modern 4 layer SAKs are bit thinner than the oldies. Sorry for the crappy pics but it's a bit dark in here :) Hope they help.

Those pics are great thank you! I really want the hook lol I might have to pull the trigger. The tweezer I would like to have but I carry a titanium toothpick in my wallet sill I’ll probably replace it with the firefly ferro rod. Got me thinking. Also on the bulk it was less about in the pocket and more about hand comfort when using it. I’ll have to ponder a bit more. Thank you for helping.

Happy to help! Have you tried those firefly ferros? I've been curious about them for a while but never quite got around to actually getting one to try.

I’ve watched a few videos of corporals corner about them and they seem legit. I’ve thought of ordering the 3 pack but that’s if I buy the fieldmaster the farmer can’t use them.

You know, if you feel a bit spendy you could get Syph007 to build you a custom and get exactly what you want. I've been happy with factory models so I could never justify it but he does nice work. I think SwissBianco did some metal press on scales for the 91mm knives with T&T slots. Whatever you choose, share some pics! :)
