looking for one of you awesome people with a real forge, to make me a fork & spoon. Yep...plain ol fork & spoon

    sort of.....

In the movie The Revenant , the main character Glass, that was left for dead after a grizzly attack, claws his way out of the grave his "friends" buried him in and he struggles to survive after that......the scene we are looking for is where Glass is by the river, gathering grasses and wood and using a flint and steel to start a fire.....while he is making that fire he uses a small, (about 8" long) one piece hand forged TWO PRONG fork to tease the fire materials around. <<<thats what i'm looking for. Scene is at 1:06:40 in the movie.

I would ALSO like a eating spoon, maybe tablespoon sized for soups and stews, same length as the fork (8")

I wanted both to be finished by heating them up hot and blackened in pure beeswax.

the fork should robust enough to stab into meat and smokies and flip em without bending the tines. Spoon should be thin enough to eat soups and stews etc comfortably , but robust enough to stir batters and doughs. Both flat hammered metal stock, NOT twisted.

please give me a price, time frame, etc. I can pay using PAYPAL (family/friends)

Have you seen self reliance outfitters crooked awls? If no one chimes in I can make one or if you want quality I’ll talk to the blacksmith who have started teaching me the trade.

It is his, I have them and like them. I don’t have much pathfinder gear but these work well and are multipurpose. Like I said though if no one here chimes in I’ll get you set up

This is a project I'd really love to tackle. It's actually been on my personal list of things to forge for a while, just never got around to it.

Was there a time frame you had in mind? I'm still dealing with a lot of stuff at home right now, so it might not be until early january that I could start on it.

Perfect. I'll start doodling some designs. I wanted to try something with a copper bowl (for the spoon) and steel handle also.

No deposit needed, since I won't know exactly a time frame. Must watch the revenant again, to study.

@Mudman inspiration these all come from crazy crow traders or JAS Townsend. The twist is easier than splitting the tines. I’ve made both, good luck.

Those are all the ones in the links, I didn’t make them although I have made a fork it wasn’t that pretty lol. I was researching options for bushy when you posted so I opted to show them since you said you would do research. Sorry for any confusion.

Mud, i like the third pic, but want two seperate utensils. Both 8" long. Spoon sized for eating soups/stews, fork tines approx 1.25" apart. Solid hammered stock, not twisted. lanyard hole in each utensil end. The rest i leave to your creativeness! :D

When you say twisted, are you talking about the kinds that are just bent over round bar and turned into a twisler?

As for lanyard holes, would be be against a scrolled loop? I like the way they look.
