My name is Josh, new here. I am not much a forum poster. But I may ask a question or two and reply some post if I think I can contribute. I love knives. I am new to ESEE. I have a PR4 thus far. Peace and look forward to checking out the forums. Edit to try to correct my really bad grammar.
Welcome @Josh & @Frank Hull .....glad to have you....make sure you read the rules...and feel free to ask questions. Glad you are here.
This is my first post here on this forum before it was moved from eseeforums. I take it that none of the old posts were copied over here from the old DIY section? I didn't post much on the old forum but just a few times and it seems like my collection is a lot smaller now with all the new offerings that are to be had these days. Here is a current pic of the fam. Derek

Good morning! I'm Rob, I hail from Rio Rancho, NM. I am retired Air Force of 23 glorious years, I’d do it again if they’d let me. I’ve been an avid outdoorsman since age 6. My dad brought me up in outdoors hunting and fishing in the Sierra’s of NorCal. I feel at peace in the sticks. However, I’ve never learned any bushcraft. I’m absolutely fascinated by it, so my eyes are as big as saucers perusing this forum. I just bought my first Esee last night, 6HM group buy (will replace my Fallkniven A1 in my pack). I follow Esee on FB and saw it, I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve been meaning to buy one for a while and finally made the plunge. Now I’m ogling over the Gibson Axe. Thanks for having me and I hope to learn a lot. —Rob
Thank you for your service. Ask questions and enjoy. If you get around to traveling to the south the ESEE bushcraft class is a great way to get what you are looking for in a few long days.
My absolute pleasure. There is a ton of info in here, loving it. I just snagged a Flexx Strop also. I would love to take that class, I think my wife would enjoy it also. We’ll see what the future holds, work keeps me pretty tied up.
Hello Rob! Awesome job in the Air Force. Thank you. My son is in the AF! Just got E4. Strigidae: I would love to take one of those classes. ✌️✌️
Awesome! Tell him to stick with it. I went and lived about everywhere. Blink too long and the ride will be over/at retirement.
Unfortunately he is stuck in a drab place and may be there for his 6 years. While he is happy he joined he is very bummed out about his duty station. .
If he’s a 5 skill level, have him put in for Korea or world-wide short. They’ll send him, but it might be somewhere he doesn’t want to go. My first base was in Georgia. All of my friends were getting orders except me. I put in for Korea and got picked up in a few months. Korea is a pretty different, some love it, some hate it. I stayed overseas for 7 years after that as a single guy bouncing between Germany and Korea. There’s an old saying, the best base was the one you were just at. Good luck!
I’m Randy, I’ve been away from the forum for a a while, not sure why. I’ve been to several training classes at RAT, my last class was the Protective Operations gun class...great class. I own a few beat up ESEE knives, including a couple of class knives. You can’t beat the knives and training, both are tough. Nice to be back on the forum!
