It’s been a little slow around here but I thought I’d see if anyone will be at the Overland Expo the second weekend of November. It’s at a new venue, Reeb Ranch, and I have high hopes for it. West is really fun but I’ve been to all but one of the OEX events on this side of the country and I tend to see more friends at East. I’ll have my Tacoma in the OutdoorX4 booth with the new Summit camper. If you’re around swing by. I’ll post some photos here after the event.

But first I’m heading to WV for some dirt and camping at the end of this week.

I really wish I could make this...I booked a shooting class with Scott "Jedi" Jedlinski that same weekend a while back and will be occupied all weekend. Hope y'all have fun, and looking forward to seeing pics and video from the event!

Sure will. You rolling in Thursday?

It happens. I had a conflict with the Expo and something the weekends on each end. Busy month for many.

You can still come hang out. Just saying.

From pics I'm getting through friends that are there I hope everyone packed their mud gear. And a positive attitude.

Spent the weekend with the Esse crew, @shaneadams90 and @Patrick Rollins at Overland East, it was cold wet and muddy but it was a good time. I also got to meet some fellow members here and put faces to them, @R Stowe and @5col it was a pleasure.

Day 3, it froze over but then turn into a really nice day. @Patrick Rollins did a very in depth knife skills class. I had a blast and can’t wait until next year.

Well it was definitely muddy and wet, but even so it's always good to see old friends and make new ones. I really liked the new venue this year, but I'm not sure where the event will be next year. We got the liner for the AT Summit and I must say it impressed me. It velcros into the tent portion and adds about 10-15*. Once the sun came up it really warmed up the tent. It was nice to meet @mtngoat and always good to see @Patrick Rollins and @shaneadams90

Here are some photos from the weekend.

The Taco was parked all weekend and then drove out of the mud with hardly a slip. 4 low, locker, and throttle control will do a lot.

This bug was across the row and got a lot of attention. The owner took it on an 11,000-mile road trip not too long ago.

This is my buddy Eric's Tacoma with the Norweld bed. There are a lot of 3rd Gens out there, but he's managed to make this one unique.

I have no clue what this is, or who it belonged to. It was just parked next to some of the classroom tents. It was still one of the coolest rigs there.

The new Ford Ranger was there to check out and test drive. Unfortunately, they shut down part of the off road portion. It's not a bad looking truck.

The Cummins 2.8 keeps showing up in cool rigs. I think this will become a standby conversion as more and more kits become available.

My buddy Grant had his Sprinter featured in the Dometic booth. He has definitely put time into the build.

Our friends hosted a cooking workshop at the Tembo Tusk booth. This is when we decided a lid and rack our definitely being added to our Skottle bag. It still packs into one case and really adds some new possibilities. One of those being cinnamon rolls.

There was plenty of mud, and I know some folks had bad experiences trying to camp or use day passes, but it was still a fun event with cool rigs, neat gear, and great people.
