Congratulations! Nice bird. I just started turkey hunting, here in Indiana. Turkey fall archery overlaps deer, so the big animals wins my attention, but I have alot of them around me while I am hunting. Had a young tom 15yds from my stand two days ago. Had maybe a 3-4in beard, but it was nice to watch. Was tempted to take a shot just to get my first turkey, but I hesitated as I am holding out for a large buck that I have on my camera visiting around the same time.

Thank you! Bigjake can tell you i was shaking like a (insert crude anaolgy here) before the shot. It was so awesome to watch them up close. They are much bigger than i thought. Much more difficult to hunt and a worthy adversary.
Deer hunting overlaps our season too. Its a toss up now and what id prefer to do!! Thanks again!

Im relearning mouth calling and its not going so well the second time. I swear the calls suck nowadays. :)

Bigjake is getting me lined out on what calls i should buy. Seems endless and i like it.

I've bought and bought about every call out there over the years. All the big names, homemade, some local calls that buddy's of mine have made and I've had success with all. My favorite calls to use are Woodhaven, IMO they make the most realistic sounding calls. Just like everything else, find what works best for you and practice, practice!!!

I can't purr with a mouth call to save my life!! Lol
I like my mouth calls for when their in close. But I'm a box call and slate call person myself.

My freezer went down on Wednesday. I lost about 150 lbs of meat. The last of my venison and my spring turkey. Muzzle loading season starts in the morning. I have the muzzle loading barrel on the Encore and all is ready. This one would put a sizeable amount of meat in the freezer.

These are my tools of the trade. The Encore is always sweet. Black powder, 300 win mag, or 45-70, it loves them all. I just got that ESEE 3 from Bravo a couple of weeks ago. I had never owned on and wanted to try something other than my 4 for working up a deer. The 3 did great work and my 6 did the processing chores very well.
