A cool restored one would be preferable, I was looking at the Brux Small Forest axe.

Thats a good size. If you wanted that size but an old restored axe look at a hudson bay style. I also have a few Norlunds on the way that would work for that ;)

True Temper Flint Edge on a straight 19" @rlambracht_axeworks handle with a big palm swell. This is a great option when you need the portability of a shorter tool but the oompff of a bigger head
    .
The sheath is, big breathe, 9/10oz veg tanned leather, wrapped in heavy weight canvas, trimmed in thinner leather and then completely stitched with forest green tiger thread. The whole sheath was then waterproofed inside and out. Brass Chicago screw and button snaps keep everything tight to the axe. .

Well after cleaning up the double bit I found another stamp on it besides the "M1" there's a capital "I" dead center.
Anyone have an idea of the maker?

I have a really old hatchet/hawk head that I'd love to re-mount. My dad found it in the 80's, stuck in a tree about 15' off the ground. So the only thing he can assume is that someone stuck it in the tree when the tree was much smaller, and over the years it just stayed there while the tree grew. It had the remains of a rotten handle still stuck in it and it's all cleaned out now, but the eye isn't uniform at all so I'm not really sure how to re-handle this thing. I'll take pictures later.
