Have you considered using one of the HPG belts (Recon or Prarie) as the foundation for a belt kit that could be easily integrated with one of their packs when needed?

I've been playing around with this for a while, and it takes very little time to "dock" the belt right into the pack flap with minimal reconfiguration. I keep most of the basic things on my Recon Belt all the time.

one of their belts would make a great battle-belt platform...

Thanks! Makes sense. I appreciate you taking the time to answer!

Lol you and I are similar in the gear ups and downs. I like the idea now I’m rethinking it all because of the chest rig. I like Eberlestock packs and they have nice rigs although not the same as shown here.

I recently saw those, I think @Bushman5 had a post that I saw it in. If I would have known I may have used it but everything has come from badgerclaw leatherworks and have belt loops not Molle I would have to start all over. Maybe further down the road. My current is very traditional looking. Waiting on my next order to arrive then I plan on posting it.

I sleep in my tent with boxes of raisins. You never need a bear gun if you have raisins.

We've started seeing the HPG Kit bags a lot more while out and about. On everything from urban runners in Chattanooga and trail runners at Prentice Cooper to hikers and Rangers/park personnel in both Tennessee and Georgia.

I'm happy to see the company getting more exposure and the kit bags become more common place.

Same here....Patrick and I are based out of Dalton and I ride many of the MTB trails in the Chatt area....seeing more and more hikers out with HPG kit bags.....

Having spent quite a bit of time with their packs I've been stunned at what my Umlindi can handle from a weeks worth of travel in a convenient carry on to a full on backpack with a hip belt....I love this pack....I used it with the Prairie belt and 2 bottle and Med pockets on each side along with my Heavy Recon kitbag....great system and the belt is awesome!

The Hill boys are good folks even though they don't know how to dress for lunch.

I carried a S&W 22 Kit Gun, years ago, I have a Ruger LCR 38+P that I carry in the woods. I've never thought about a chest bag.

interested in the HPG Heavy Recon in Multicam? I have a barely used one, with some add ons (velcro pistol mag pouch - holds 3 mags)

you'll have room left over for survival/woods gear.

nah, i have my gear dialed-in thankfully...i want a summer underquilt and maybe a dyneema hammock tarp for the weight savings but that's low priority since i can still stand to lose more weight first :)

dyneema is lighter and stronger...and comes in earth tones :) my main shelter is one of those things i don't want to stick out...tyvek starts to degrade quickly from sun exposure too.
