Patrick and Shane have been complaining and whining about working way too hard the last few weeks, so the three of us took off yesterday on a relaxing hike of the AT Approach trail. Started at the visitors center at Amicalola and finished at the terminus on Springer mountain. Always a fun hike. Time for them to get back to work now.

Can you even count what you guys do as work though? I mean technically yes you are working and yes you do a great job. But is it “work”? I say no, not conspired to my soul sucking job in a concrete jungle of misery and distain.... anyway looks like a great hike, I’m jealous!

*Edit*- I know Shane considers it work dealing with me... lol
@Patrick Rollins does that chest bag always stay on? The idea intriqued me. Been working on a belt kit but it’s not comfortable with a pack on. I’m wanting an easy access option. I know I’ve asked about these before, just trying to weigh pros and cons. Thanks for your time.

The chest bag is the way to go.

Looks like a great trip guys, I have all of NC on the AT but not much of GA.

Shooting spit wads at the wore out office dartboard is not considered "work" Boss. ;). Still, a nice walk in the trees beats the office any day!

I have very little time on the AT. Wish I had more time to do a week or so at a time.

The HPG kits work well with a pack. In fact, it seems to balance everything out. I forgot mine yesterday and definitely missed having it on the trail. Just way too convenient and comfortable.

Agreed. Once you get used to wearing one, it feels like something is missing and my whole kit is out of whack when I don't have one on. I also love having the "quick grab" items in front of me where I can easily get them without having to stop, take off my backpack and fish around for what I'm looking for.

    Looks like a nice hike!

I heard the linville gorge area should have some good warm up hikes for you to prepare

They lied. There are only 174 steps on that first set.

I think they added a bonus on on the next flight that was 400+ and change.

I'm a little late in responding, but it is THE best way to carry a handgun when backpacking/camping etc. So to answer your question yes for the most part.

I missed this question somehow....I sleep in a hammock with my kitbag on....gun inside....I keep basic survival stuff in there and am always paring things down, then over time adding way to much, only to have to cut again...the kitbag integrates extremely well with all the packs I've worn (HPG and others).....it has become a vital piece of kit for me and I REALLY like having a pistol very close and very accessible without drawing attention to it... I run the HPG (Dale Frickes) trigger guard holster in all mine as well...a great system...
