My wife lost a bet a while back, and the deal was that she had to make corndogs from scratch. Being the fairly health-conscious person she is, she went out and bought a bunch of high quality ingredients, local bratwurst, etc. They were the most 'gourmet' corndogs I've ever eaten. It turned into a party and when we burned through all the corn-dipped brats, we started digging other things out of the fridge to dip in corn batter, like pickles, cheese and at one point I think even Snickers were dipped and fried. My aorta is still recovering from that night...

It's a beautiful place indeed, where silverware is never needed and the mustard is stone-ground by vestal virgins.

Fun few days! Me and the Kiddos harvested 10 Gallons of Potatoes, Collected a half a flat of Blackberries and managed to find a Really nice 100 Wool shirt for only $15!!

    The 10 Gallons of Potatoes!

And the Kiddo was super funny running around today in her new pink dress with hands and nails still recovering from digging all the potatoes out by hand! People where concerned that her hands were “dirty” and I had to keep explaining this was a significant amount of scrubbing!

We didn’t use any other tools except our hands to avoid damaging/ waisting any potatoes!

    ok all you engineer types:

talk to me about axle shafts, SPECIFICALLY...... 15mm OD shafts........this is for my trekking cart

    - steel?

    - aluminum?

    grade of steel or aluminum?

    - how much weight/movement can they sustain before bending/shearing?

or am i overbuilding the trekking cart axles and should just go with a 15mm OD x 120mm long grade 8 bolt?

here is a general idea of what i'm aiming for. Load out will be 150lbs max. Cart platform is 24"wide x 36" long

looking at it from the back

EDIT: DISREGARD, a local machine shop helped me out.

well that was interesting....a City works truck just pulled up and two "workers" got out and "looked at blueprints", all the while looking across the little park.

dont know too many , if any at all, city workers that wear ear comms and have a holstered firearm under their bulky work shirts....LOL

there was a SUV with bling rims in the lane behind the park................

That routine is as old as the hills now Bushy...a better variation are guy working on a road survey, hardhats and orange (bleh) vests, stand around with a pole up on one spot and theodolite a bit away and EVERYONE expects you to be watching around (looking through a magnifying device ;) ) and talking person to person via radios.... :D :D

    lol. Seems to work.

theres lots of activity in the hood tonight. SUV left, tan honda civic followed it, and another unmarked car. City truck left as well.

wonder if this has to do with the gang activity lately

    Two things:

    1. It's hotter than a St. Louis laundromat.

B.) Why in the heck does VW not make the California camper van for the US? That is the perfect Expat Republic action mobile.

    and

    4. Wesco Boots are worth the money if you have 2 years to break them in. And you have another 30 years to wear them out. Otherwise, they aren't worth the money.
