    Agreed that’s why I’m excited about it. I have a few old butcher style knives like this that I use for butchering at home but that’s where they stay. I’m sure the JG5 will be both a butchering beast and an all around camp knife...

    Thats the allure for me aswell, outside of butchering my green river is not ideal, its ground very thin and I just like more of a point on a general purpose blade. Also the origionals are a big knife! more than I like to carry on my belt.

    @STPNWLF

    I don't care what color you guys dye them as long as you buy one first!!

    LoL......in all seriousness this is a nice blade.....

    I just made the mistake of reading a link someone sent me at another bushcrafty style forum....I'm found myself reading and staring at the computer like a dog looks at a air vent when the AC kicks on and it happens to be right over it.... (head cocked to the side, look of intent and amusement).....

    How do people assess something they have never held? baffled...

    One; I have bought one, just waiting for it to arrive (I’m signed up on TKC for the preorder notification on the carving axe also) two; people are idiots, at least the vast majority, it does seem this site filters well for that lol... as already mentioned the other bushcrafty site tore apart and denounced the PR4 from the first photo. It was ridiculous how people where acting about it without ever holding it. I spoke up several times in defense. (If I remember right, I can’t look I got banned for voicing my option in a PM, Patrick Rollins himself sent me a message thanking me for telling them to pipe down lol) like you told me about my axe and knife sheath you can’t make everyone happy and the armchair philosopher will always complain because they don’t understand the real world out of their chair and away from their bags of Doritos and cases of Mountain Dew (I’m painting you a picture lol) and their confusion makes them angry so they lash out at anything they can to justify their login and membership lol

    we see this all the time....the simple fact is that we would not put them on there if we didn't like them....James would not do it if it didn't work for him.....at the end of the day to each their own.....

    there will be many that like and appreciate them....

    I love the scales on the PR4 just waiting in the JG-5 and carving axe to show me it’s not just a fluke.. ;)

    I was hesitant to buy the PR4 when it came out because of the scales. I figured they would give my hand hot spots. This is not the case i judged it without even handling one. The scales are amazing and would like them on all of my knives.
