Is it forecasted to see the sculpted scales (PR4 and the Gibson AX) showing up on anymore knives like the JG3 or others? I may be in the minority here but the regular canvas micarta gives me shivers and just cant stand the way the texture feels in my hand, but the new sculpted canvas micarta on my PR4 are fine as is the linen micarta that was on my 6.
It's funny as I'm the other way round! Standard ESEE micarta (on my Izula and 3Mil) is the best handle material I've ever used. I like the PR4 scales but I find them a little harder to work with, especially when wet.
Id check into some of the aftermarket type scales at this point. I have an idea that Shane said they were not thinking of heading that way just yet. Could be wrong. Lots of craftsman on here that could help you make your knife into a dream knife. Im a huge fan of the JG3 as well.
i have the original camplore line but the black oxide blades are so nice. I was going to pull the trigger on the orange cr2.5 but just wanted to know if it would ever be offered on jg3 and I could possibly wait a bit. So if they aren’t going to offer any time soon I’ll get the cr2.5 with orange. I’ve messaged Shane but haven’t heard yes or no yet
I like the looks of the JG 3 but the regular micarta is holding me back, I had a 3 with that micarta and sold it as I never got around to buying TKC G10 for it. Maybe the texture would wear down after awhile, I never gave it a chance.
