I have some canvas tool bags I wanted to wax and made water resistant and instead of buying some of those expensive wax products I decided to make my own. In the end, I don't think I saved any money... BUT it was a lot of fun and I'll have more satisfaction using it.

I looked up many recipes and I choose the easiest one! -well also because it was edible or food safe, I wouldn't have to worry about the cookware. I might regret it but we'll have to see.

The recipe I used is: 1 part beeswax and 1 part pure lard. I might reformulate/melt it down again and add more lard and essential oils later on. If you guys/gals have any advice on how to improve this, please let me know- I want to learn. Thanks! BTW, the clean up sucked and was quite the chore but I had to hide the evidence of me playing around in the kitchen. Good thing everything is edible and safe.

How is the texture? I have used beeswax with essential oils and she’s butter to make a medicated balm. For fix n wax I’m currently on Bfat but I like the consistency of the stuff I’ve gotten from self reliance outfitters. Not too hard but not too soft. I haven’t been able to replicate but I never tried lard although I keep a jar in my kit

haha I don't want to get blamed for misplacing things, mess, etc... what she doesn't know, won't hurt her!

Hi Eddie, I'm just about to use it on some canvas. It's a bit hard, I might melt it down again and add more lard. Maybe experiment and have different consistencies for different application. I'll come back and let you know how it turns out.

Awesome thanks! I haven’t had enough time to play with different combos for consistency yet

Thank you Eddie! @BlueDogScout I really like the way it came out, but I don't have anything to compare it to. But it works and it doesn't leave and residue on my hands, that I can perceive .

I'll let you know how it holds up. I choose this recipe because it was easy, just two ingredients (1 to 1 ratio), and it's food safe. Thanks for following brother!

IMG_20190209_091530332~2.jpg I make a mixture of 80% beeswax, and 20% parafin wax. Works like a charm, and olds up very well.

I've also used 80% Sno- Seal, and 80% Parafin wax, and it works excellent as well. Here is my Finish gasmask bag done with the first recipe.
