Two weeks after a Milorganite application.
Grew tall, mowed at 4" with the Toro 22" Recycler. Lots of work and set backs. However currently, We be dominating the hood.

Getting close to time for round 1 of pre-emergent, and I need to get some post emergent down also for the stuff that has popped up already.

Last year is the year I dumped my lawn people and went rogue. However they did do my winter post emerge and my spring pre emerge so this year it’s on me!

Pre emergent is one of the most important steps.

Skip or mess it up then you are playing catch up all year to the weeds.

I’d like to experiment with growth regulator, but don’t want to spend that kind of $$.

Put some pre-em down earlier this month. My new yard is currently 98% crabgrass and weeds, with a few patches of Bermuda. The previous owners didn't leave me much to work with.

I just broadcast some 2,4-d to put a hurting on everything that has sprung up so far.

Last year I worked on just getting the existing bermuda that I had in better shape and expanding. This year I'm planning on having some top soil brought in, establishing some beds near the house, and will probably end up putting sod down in all the areas close to the house. I'm on a few acres, so I've got a few years (at least) worth of work.

Bermuda is showing some signs of life.

Scalped it down again to a 1.5 setting.

Will spray some pre and post in the next day or two.

Why thank you! I had great luck last year but it isn’t all that complicated.

Oh by the way I got 100% of my information from the Lawn Care Nut on YouTube. He is coming out with his book and for $25 it gives you everything you need. The first book is for you warm season turf guys. The cool season will be out soon.

I look for the ad for his new book and post it here. I see it from time to time on Facebook.

Here is the link for the complete guide $25 which is half off for a limited time.

What would yall suggest for a shady yard that is approximately %95 moss. Last year I put lime pellets down and it didn't seem to do much. This year none of my grass returned and the moss has spread

It took me several applications of lime and about two years before my moss patches finally went away.

    Nutsedge infestation has begun.
Sprayed with Dismiss night before last, so it should be cleared up soon.

Had the yard sprayed with growth regulator and liquid fertilizer, haven’t had to mow since the Monday before last.
I’ll mow it this weekend and then shouldn’t have to again for a couple weeks.

Just got down throwing down some Sedgehammer on mine. Had a dallis situation to take care of prior to that.

Just ordered some Dimension, so I'm hoping crab and dallis will be less of an issue next Spring.
