I had a big ass moccasin run me off of my fishing spot last week. I got a late start and had to retie my line and all that good stuff so it was getting real close to dark. I stood on the pond dam and just as I was about to cast I saw it swimming straight toward me. That bastard stopped and looked straight at me and started easing closer, its head disappeared into the weeds about 5 feet below my feet. I decided it was too late for fishing and went back to the house.

I did not get any more pics. Evacuated the area as quickly as I could.
Have lived here for 15 years and this is the first I have seen here.

Spotted on a road in SE OR.

    Rubber boa, I reckon.

Definitely not a rubber boa. Some type of colubrid. The colors are throwing me off. Has a body like a racer or garter snake, but the solid greenish color is "off".

Glad to hear you say that, as it was puzzling me as well. The coloring was very distinctive and I've had a hard time pinning it down. I picked it up and moved it off the road, and it was very docile.

    Coluber constrictor, perhaps?

Racer. Doesn’t appear to be a whip snake based on scale appearance. Beautiful nonetheless.
