Gentlemen and A few ladies, This months challenge is to get out of here. Yes you heard that right. GET OUT. You are to get out in the woods and enjoy the day. Relax. Take a picture of your knife any brand model etc and post it for points. Extra points for longer trips and more exotic locations etc. But get out and see something new. Enjoy the natures.
Actually took Monday and Tuesday off this week to spend some time on Orcas Island. First little vacation I've had this year...and of course as luck would have it, I got sick as hell and was stuck in bed all day Saturday and Sunday Managed to get out on Monday for some quick hikes around the island before catching the ferry back home: Yesterday, I had to head to ARB headquarters to meet with their tech to troubleshoot this (expensive as f*ck!!!) BP-51 suspension I just put on last Fall. It's been squeaking more than a hooker's mattress during mardi gras. It was an awesome meeting - we found the culprit, and he gave me some new heim joints and bushings to press in there. I got on the road much quicker than I originally anticipated, traffic was behaving, the sun was out and I had a good chunk of the day left. I called my brother and we headed out to explore some parts of the Olympic Nat'l Forest that just opened up for the season; areas I hadn't been to in YEARS and some new spots I have been mapping out. It was a perfect day to end what started as a crappy "vacation". We explored some un-mapped access roads, found an (AWESOME) abandoned campsite (nestle between a river and creek), found a very well constructed shelter hidden in the woods, and just enjoyed being in some of the most beautiful parts of this region. I love the PNW!!!
This doesn't count for the May challenge because it was a month ago, but I really like this thread. Shenandoah National Park.
