I did my best with this ol timey pattern that has been around for a couple hundred years. Just my take on a neck knife version, that actually had a large enough handle to use for woodcraft. every neck knife on the market has a small blade and small handle. This is a regular sized handle with a small 3" blade. Perfect for a stand alone knife on backpacking trips or in the Southwest, but in the Northern forest it is companion to the chopper.
I had a certain weight in mind I wanted this knife to be. I wanted it to be the weight of a common MORA knife, about 2 ounces. And it is, due to the size and thin stock which is someplace between 1/16"-3/32"
So, it isn't new, about two years old and I couldn't be any happier with it and the sheath. Both works of art.
MUD, you need to get back to it, you are a special craftsman!

It is, despite it being 01 steel, which is one of my top two favorites. It has this reputation of rusting overnight, tarnishing fast. This is my knife after never cleaning it or oiling it after only using it in humid, wet places.
    Still pretty too!

I apologize they are 14". Great for cooking, stabbing coals, mixing coffee, and transferring coals back into the hobo stove.

The ones I ordered are 9", titanium, and hollow. I tried to find solid but that option was high $$$. I figure that I'd be picking up food, embers or coals, light things. Not driving them into trees to hang a hammock on, so it would be sufficient.

Yea I looked at some titanium ones and they are mighty proud of them let me tell you. So proud I think they want to hold onto them a little longer... good point though to add to the list of chopstick versatility it can be a toggle....
