Always wanted a baja bug, or a street legal sand rail.

As previously stated I used to LURK on here for years...rarely contributed but really consumed a lot of information...I always liked your biking threads....takes one bike dork to know one!

Off to the hammock rig for the night.
It's like pedaling in your sleep. ;)

Wow! That truck is gorgeous. In my opinion the early Willy’s are one the best designs in the off-road realm. I bet that went anywhere you wanted.

    Thanks. :) It was, indeed.

I can't argue with that. It was a trooper. I hope -- and suspect -- it's still out there somewhere. I haven't seen it in 40 years.
Yes, it would do that, but it wouldn't always get me out.

I learned the hard way in the Wolf River bottoms in Memphis (just upstream from the Miss'ippi Rivah), when my friends and I tried to drive in to the squirrel hunting spots through creeks running into the Wolf. The mud wasn't a problem; it just powered through. The problem was when the front bumper hung on one side of the creek and the rear bumper on the back side. It wasn't a regular jeep, it was a pickup with a long frame.

Took a tow truck to get us out, and my dad had to drag it in with his jeep.

Took me a few minutes to find this on a backup hard drive
(video production eats gigabytes like a sugar addict eats Skittles).

I took this photo in the Wolf bottoms with two of my hunting buddies in the back. We were high schoolers then.

Some cool rigs here for sure!

I spotted a really cool one a couple years ago but it seems I have since deleted the photo.

We had a Willy’s CJ2A on the farm for a while but sadly my dad traded it off. It was a navel yard series with a spool winch and 3 spd transmission

I’ve deleted a few as well. I was looking for an old FJ60 pic that apparently is gone now.

That’s an awesome CJ model. Go anywhere, just not fast. Unfortunately that’s the case with a lot of old trucks from our pasts.
