This thread got big on the other forum. It might still have some legs here. So, if you've earned this patch or you want to, this thread's for you.

No interest in the challenges or earning their patch, but I do love my GR-1 as an EDC pack.
Best frameless daypack I've had for my needs, it has simple but excelent organization, and the boxy shape makes effective use of space for the dimensions.

I love the GR1 as well. Nice, simple pack, without all the straps and junk hanging off it.

The GR-1 is a sweet looking pack. Very clean looking. Pricey, but nice.

I've said it many times on the other forum and to people everywhere...the GR-1 is the best designed EDC pack for me. I love its simplicity combined with its superb construction. Plus it just fits my loadout perfectly.

I have owned seven GORUCK packs.
All purchased at discounted prices and sold or traded except for three remaining: a black GR0, a Java GR1 and a red American GR1.
They are pricey, but I have never lost $ on one.
Packs are very solid packs. Simple and bombproof. Great layout of pockets that temains the same for each size of packs.
I know where each pocket is, even in the dark...very important in a challenge.
As far as events, I have completed four with a fifth scheduled next week. One light, a July 4 tough, a MOG mile tough, and a Charming the Snake tough. Next week will be another MOG mile tough in STLO.
    Guess I drank the koolaid.

If any of you are still rucking and taking patches you should really try a ruck plate. It hasnt made rucking easy but it sure is a nicer carry. Doesnt jump at the chance to hit you in the back of the head like bricks do during bear crawls. Doesnt push and pull like bricks do. Leaves you with plenty of space in the ruck. Also with a silver sharpie you can write you last will and testament on it.

I've recently acquired a used 21 liter GR1 to add in my collection. I wore it Saturday on a half marathon worth about 40 lbs in it. I think it will be my goto for rucks. The 26l is still my daily carry. I also use the 15l bullet.

I'm going to order one. If you're a big boy, how heavy do you have to have it for the Challenge?

Thanks. I swore I'd never do another one of these things but lately, I've been feeling like I need to stop being fat and start being strong.

I know the feeling. Im training for next years goruck event in october. Dont really care that its a year away as its good to be in shape and ready for anything. Dont want to die dragging a buddy out of the woods in an emergency.

If you are insane try a mog mile. Supposedly their hardest event. Extra credit for getting brian squared as a cadre. Hes awesome.
